A week after Issam Zahreddine, a prominent Syrian major general was killed in Huweijet Sakr in Deir Ez Zour province, the media linked to the so-called “armed Syrian opposition” began spreading the news that Major General Suheil Al Hassan (Nimr) was killed while fighting ISIS in the province.
A source from the Syrian Army confirmed all claims by the so-called “armed Syrian opposition” about General Hassan’s death are completely false, noting that the general is alive and well.
The source, however, added that six soldiers from the Tarameeh Group of the Tiger Forces were killed during clashes with ISIS terrorists in Deir Ez Zour.
It is noteworthy that claims of the so-called “armed opposition” come right in time when Tiger Forces announced a major advancement by breaking through ISIS defense lines from southwestern part of Deir Ez Zour city and advancing at least 1 km in direction of the University and Harabisheh district.
