More than 160 militants and 33 pieces of equipment have been destroyed in Syria.
On the night of August 18-19, the units of the Syrian army, with the support of the Russian military security services and the Syrian Air Force, conducted a successful operation to destroy ISIS militants in and area known as "Akerbat cauldron".
According to a source in the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, the Syrian Arab Army on August 18 made another attempt to convince the militants holding settlements in the Akerbat area, to surrender their weapons and cease hostilities.
"Ignoring all the proposals of the Russian and Syrian governments for a peaceful solution of the current situation, the fighters of more than 100 people and up to 30 pieces of equipment tried to break through the positions of government forces and exit from the encirclement towards the de-escalation zones of Idlib and Ham.
"To prevent the breakthrough of militants, after additional reconnaissance by the existing modern reconnaissance complexes of UAVs, about one in the morning of August 18 in the districts of Arshun, Jin al-Ilbavi and Akerbat, Russian and Syrian aircraft suffered an air strike, which resulted in the loss of militants of up to 100 people and 15 units of equipment, "- said the military.
"From approximately 2:00 to 3:00 on August 18, Su-35S and Su-24 of Russia inflicted point strikes on a moving column.
As a result of the fire attack, the ISIS brigade "Liva-Al-Masna" lost at least 60 fighters, 18 pieces of equipment, including gasoline tankers and trucks with ammunition.
The Russian Federation, acting as guarantor of peace in the region, has stated that it will not tolerate violations of the peace agreements reached, and the fighters who do not wish to lay down their arms and return to their families are awaiting the same fate.
