State Department said it asked two diplomats from the Cuban embassy in Washington to leave the United States and return home, following incidents involving US diplomats in Cuba.
“A number of US Embassy employees working at the US embassy building in Havana reported various incidents, with some of them suffering from physical symptoms, said Heather Nauert, spokesperson for the United States Department of State.
The State Department, did, however, not specify how many American embassy employees were affected, what the physical symptoms were, what caused them, or who the officials were.
“We learned of these incidents late last year”, Nauert said.
On Wednesday, however, State Department said a pair of Cuban officials left the US on May 23rd.
