Inconvenient truth: Ukrainian troops need mental treatment
The head of the psychiatric care clinic of the Main National Military Medical Clinical Center, Colonel Oleg Druz, stated during a meeting of the Health Committee that 93% of participants in the "Anti-Terrorist Operation" (ATO) are a potential threat to society and need treatment. Among veterans of the ATO there is a very high percentage of suicides and various forms of mental disabilities. According to official statistics, more than 500 veterans of the ATO have committed suicide after their return from the war against Donbass.
This truth is so inconvenient that instead of solving the problem of this epidemic of mental illness in the Ukrainian army, this "unpatriotic" doctor has been dismissed. The head of the Ministry of Defense, Stepan Poltorak, wrote on his Facebook profile that Druz was dismissed due to "unsatisfactory performance."
The Deputy Chief of the Land Forces of Ukraine, Major-General Pyotr Nikitenko, has also called the fighters of the Ukrainian Donbass volunteer battalion "marauders, cowards and thieves". These words caused a storm of indignation among the Ukrainian Donbass militants who in response stated that they did not consider Nikitenko a general.
Plaque in honor of anti-fascist underground installed in Alchevsk
A solemn opening of a memorial plaque to the hero of the anti-fascist underground, Andrey Valko, was held in the Rostok kindergarten in Alchevsk.
Andrey Valko stood at the heart of the creation of the legendary underground organization of young anti-fascists known as the "Young Guard" (in Krasnodon, Lugansk region). He was born in Lugansk, participated in the First World War and in the Russian Civil War. In the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, he was in charge of two mines in Krasnodon. The Gestapo arrested him the first day of the occupation of the city, together with more than 30 miners, and he was executed in late September 1942. The miners were buried alive under the ground of the city park. The miners’ execution pushed the youth of Krasnodon to create an underground anti-fascist organization called "Young Guard”.
First monuments to fallen militiamen installed in Krasnodonsky district
In Beloskelevatoye village, near the city of Krasnodon, the first four monuments to the defenders of the Donbass, who were killed in 2014-2016 defending the LPR, have been installed. Tombstones were installed by three residents of the village: Vladimir Shatsky, Vladimir Timoshenko and Andrey Boyev, together with a volunteer from Russia, Andrey Petrenko.
During the opening ceremony of the monuments, the Father Stanislav of the Church of Holy Protection gave a memorial service for the dead. Lieutenant Colonel of the People's Militia of the LPR, Andrey Marochko, compared the exploit of the LPR militiamen to the exploits of the soldiers and underground fighters of the Great Patriotic War. In 1941, Lugansk miners took up arms against the invading German and the Romanian fascists. In 2014, the Lugansk miners also stood up to defend their motherland against the Ukrainian fascists.
Ukrainian militants bomb Lugansk suburb
On September 21st, Ukrainian troops fired mortar shells at Krasniy Yar village (a suburb of Lugansk). As a result, an apartment house was completely burnt down and several more houses were damaged.
The spokesman of the People's Militia of the LPR, Andrey Marochko, has drawn attention to a noticeable reduction in the number of bombardments by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF). Nevertheless, bombs still continue to fall on the Republic’s civilians.
Assassination attempt on DPR Deputy Prime Minister
On September 23rd, at 8:30 A.M. Donetsk time, at the intersection of Mira Prospekt and Ulrich Ulitsa (Kalininsky district), an assassination attempt was made on Alexander Timofeev, the Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the People’s Republic of Donetsk and Minister of Revenue and Collections. The assassins remotely detonated an anti-personnel fragmentation mine, but the minister was not injured by the terrorist attempt.
A group of saboteurs of six people was quickly arrested after a hot pursuit. The group acted on the instructions of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU) of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Recent attempts on high-ranking officials of the Republic have presumably been made with the aim of destabilizing the economic and political situation in the DPR.
