“The United Nations Security Council has exhausted options to stop North Korea's nuclear program and the United States may hand over the case to the Pentagon”, a US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said on Sunday.
“We have pretty much exhausted all the things that we can do at the Security Council at this point,” Haley told CNN’s “State of the Union,” adding that she was perfectly happy to hand the North Korea problem over to Defense Secretary James Mattis.

“We will try all other possibilities, however military options are still left on the table”, she said.
The US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson said the military option with North Korea would become the only option, should diplomacy fail.
“The UN Security Council has, through its resolutions, imposed the harshest sanctions in history to bring North Korea back to negotiations table and begin a constructive and productive dialogue”, Tillerson said.
Previously, the United Nations Security Council condemned the recent missile test of North Korea, and considered it a very severe provocation, adding that it poses a threat to all member states of the United Nations.
